Lithuania’s coastal jewel is Neringa or Curonian Spit, situated in the dazzling landscape of the Curonian Spit, a real wonder created by the natural forces of the sea and the wind.It is a narrow, sandy peninsula with the waves of Baltic Sea on one side and the ripples of a lagoon on the other. It was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List as one of the world’s most scenic spots.The Curonian spit is a 98 km long, its southern portion lies within Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia and its northern within southwestern Lithuania.
